A few times in my life I’ve had moments of absolute clarity. When for a few brief seconds the silence drowns out the noise and I can feel rather than think, and things seem so sharp and the world seems so fresh. It’s as though it had all just come into existence. I can never make these moments last. I cling to them, but like everything, they fade.

Christopher Isherwood (via tigtag)
I have moments like these, every now and again. I can only describe them as moments of hyper-perception, where my mind is sharp and keen, extra aware of my surroundings – as if my brain were suddenly functioning at it’s full potential, unfettered by drowsiness, the accumulation of fractured thoughts, the static of half-ideas, and the distractions of a million little things. It is, as Mr. Isherwood describes, absolute clarity. It is a beautiful, wonderful feeling. A fleeting feeling.
